Signature Drinks for Your Wedding

Instead of having a full-bar at last nights wedding, our couple opted for beer, wine and two signature drinks that matched the colors of their wedding.  Both drinks were refreshing and the guests were raving about how delicious they were!  The couple saved a ton of money on liquor and the guest loved the two drink options (one with vodka and the other non-alcoholic).  Here are our brides recipes…

Berry-Pom Lemon Drop
- Muddled frozen berries
- 1 part vodka
- 1 part lemonade
- Splash club soda or sprite
- Lemon wedge

Mango Lime Fruit Spark
- Muddled frozen mango
- Club soda
- Lime wedge

Wedding Cakes Inspired by Beautiful Gowns

I attended the Little White Dress Grand Opening Gala on Friday and fell in love with these dress inspired cakes by Teacup.   I also fell in love with the French macarons Paula had on display with the cakes.  They were beautiful, delicate and one of the most delicious things I’ve ever eaten.  Amazing.

Thanks to the staff at Little White Dress for the amazing evening!  It was great to celebrate their grand opening with my friends from Shutterbooth, Wild Thyme Catering, Girls and Curls, Worthwhile Style and  many others!  Onto the dresses and cakes…  Enjoy!

Bliss Tip: Save Money at Bring Your Own Alcohol Venues

In today’s economy brides are trying to stretch every last penny of their wedding budget. One of the easiest ways to save a bunch of green on your wedding day is to choose a venue that allows you to provide your own alcohol. At venues that require you to buy their alcohol, your liquor tab can be one of the most expensive things for your wedding. Avoid these high cost by finding venues that will let you bring in your own alcohol, purchased at liquor store prices.

Having control of the bar at your own wedding also gives you some other great advantages and opportunities to apply your personal touch. Perhaps one of your wedding colors is lavender and you want to serve lavender lemonade cocktails, or maybe you want to have a Mojito bar with four different kinds of Mojitos. The options are endless when you have control over the bar and you will be able to put a very special and  memorable touch to your reception.
